Our history

A graduate of the Costume Institute of Milan (her hometown), Nicoletta Massone has been a costume designer for the entertainment industry since the 1950s. After an impressive design career, she decided to put aside her sketchbooks and founded a costume rental company with her son, Simon Chamberland.

For over 20 years, Nicoletta and Simon created, purchased, and repaired costumes for numerous film, television, and theater productions.

After years of dedication to the company, Simon has now passed the torch to his nephew, Laurent Lacroix, who invests himself wholeheartedly in the new Espace Costume. 

Espace Costume’s collection now has over 1 million pieces and is a vital piece of the costuming industry, in Quebec as well as throughout North America.
